Up-Cycle An Old Cage For Your Smartphone



Just for fun we made a smokin' smartphone rig using a dead stock Shogun Cage Kit which is only compatible with the original Shogun and Ninja Assassin. We've been staring at that thing wondering what it might be good for.

What we used to bling out a simple smartphone:
* Shogun Cage Kit
* Nanlite LumiPad 11 - Dimmable Bi-Color Soft LED Panel
*Sennheiser MKE 400 Camera Mic
Connected the mic to the phone using as TRS to TRRS adapter included in the Audio-Technica ATR3350is Lav Kit
* Joby GripTight Mount PRO used to mount the smartphone on the cage. Connected the GripTight to the cage with a 1/4 to 1/4 thread adapter from Small Rig.

The mic and the light were mounted to the top of the cage using shoe mounts from Small Rig.
