NAB 2013: Let's All Go To The SuperMeet

The world famous SuperMeet was last night, and it returned to its old haunts at the Amazon ballroom in the Rio hotel. Now one of the jokes of holding it at the Rio is NAB isn't the only trade show going on this week. There is also a Lingerie and Sex Toy Trade Show, that is held at the Rio during the same week. One of the fun things about going to the SuperMeet at the Rio is you have to walk past the Lingerie Trade Show to get to the ballroom where the Supermeet is held. This, for some reason, is quite enjoyable and always puts a grin on one's face. So your intrepid blogger of DV has decided to share you with some images that he walked past as he headed to the SuperMeet. 

 

There is also a Halloween Trade Show attached to the Lingerie Show. Didn't get a chance to peek in, so I'm not sure if it is Halloween lingerie, or just regular Halloween costumes.

 

Good turnout this year. Not a single presentation from Apple, or any discussion of Final Cut. What a change in such a short period of time. Presentations on the new DaVinci Resolve, new Avid, new Smoke, and new Adobe CS7 packages, as well as a preview from Red Giant on a new on-set DIT program.

The World Famous Raffle was a joy as always, and the Montreal FCP Users Group only won one prize this year (they usually win a lot). They did come dressed as courier-du-bois, as they always do, and they donated beer for the raffle. Raffle ended at 11 pm, which is the earliest it has ever ended - DV Dude usually slinks out a side door around 11:30 and the raffle is still going strong.
