NAB 2013: Tokina Cinema Lenses!!

Didn't see this one coming, but DV Dude is happy to see it. Tokina Cinema lenses. You read it right- this one came out of nowhere. The above picture is of the 16-28 zoom lens that is targeted for a summer release for around $5000. And its a real cinema lens. While $5000 seems expensive, it is a lot cheaper than Zeiss zooms that clock in at $20,000.

 

The other lens set to launch this summer is a Cine version of the top-selling Tokina 11-16 wide angle zoom. Shades of Rokinon here, as it is the same classic 11-16 that we sell a ton of, with a re-worked housing. De-clicked aperture, built in gear teeth on both the focus and the zoom. Target price of $2000. Due this summer.
